why 'ARSENAL F C' fan

ARSENAL (gunners) - the "BEST & THE BEAUTIFUL"

"Arsenal is not built around great players
But, great players are built in ARSENAL"

The first English Premier League match that i saw was the one which had Arsenal as one of its teams.I don't know why, but i thought of supporting this team.Of course i didn't had that much of a 'footballing knowledge' then.
But then, the brand of football they played was great to watch..... it was scintillating and eye catching. The way they moved the ball was just beautiful.... To my surprise they were really 'on a roll' back then.I was actually watching the "invincibles" (that's how that team was aliased) play football.
I mean that team was unbeaten for 49 consecutive matches!!!! its the most by any team in Premier League .Well that takes some doing.Isn't it a record to cherish .I'm glad that i support Arsenal.

Some Jewels, part of the "invincibles".....

Now that in the recent seasons we may not have won as many trophies but ,we still play football the 'Beautiful way'.A team with an average age of less than 26, we are a force to reckon with in the following seasons.

I hail 'The man' behind the recent success of Arsenal.

-Arsene Wenger,The manager.

ALL THE BEST GUNNERS.....

Want to see beautiful football watch Arsenal play.

INDIA's journey to moon

Government of India approved ISRO's proposal for the first Indian Moon Mission, called Chandrayaan-1 in November 2003.

And now it has become a reality.

CHANDRAYAAN-1 gearing up to make us proud.........

I am very much thrilled about INDIA's first big step in conquering the 'space'.....

We may not be the first people to launch an effort to conquer "THE MOON"
but , what i think is that every Indian should feel proud to see the Indian satellite around the EARTH's satellite...

They say -" the main objective is to investigate the distribution of various minerals and chemical elements and high-resolution three-dimensional mapping of the entire lunar surface".

But ...i dont bother what it does out there and howz that going to help us.The bottomline is that we have an indegenous satellite thats running around the MOON.

I hope this is just the beginning of the big things to come....

GO INDIA GO..................

Installing ubuntu 8.04

Hi...... people out there (pardon my grammer)
i'm writting this blog because, i found out that installing & customizing Ubuntu into what it actually is, was not easy .(as a beginner)
There were no proper tutorials out there .Of course the forum was there to lend a helping hand but still you know you have to search out there for every single thing.
So for all those people who are new to Ubuntu and those who want to switch from windows for normal routine use - this might provide some help.

How to get Ubuntu ?
  • get it from your friends .
  • get it from the below link(although it takes some weeks to get to you).
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu

(assuming that you have a live CD)
Make sure:
that you have the proper version that supports your system.
32-bit supports all systems .
64-bit requires core 2 and above usually.

"Some AMD-ASUS have problem with APIC options"(if you encounter this problem) don't panic.
just go to the bios and then to the POWER option and then disable the APIC option. THAT'S IT.

The 3 simple steps involved in installing Ubuntu....

First insert the live CD.(First-boot priority must be set to CD drive)

Take a look at the image previews

STEP 1:
The language will be by default English so don't bother about it.
Then select the first option i.e try it out as live CD.
Then allow it to boot.
After it boots....
Double click on the install icon.
Then do as shown in the slide show....I mean you just have to select forward for the next four pages.

STEP 2:
The most crucial part of the installation.
The step 5/8 takes some doing...
There are four options
The first & the fourth options are the best.

First option :
guides us by doing the partitioning stuff itself by selecting the freed space..
but while going for dual boot it might cause some problems so........

i prefer the MANUAL method i.e the fourth option.(check the option) and click FORWARD.

STEPS:

  • The window shows all the partitions
  • Select the free space for partitioning.
  • If you don't have FREE space then DELETE a partition that is least used in the other Operating System. (BE CAREFUL )

  • Now CLICK on the CREATE option.
  • Now we need a minimum of two partitions one for "/" (root file system) and another for "swap area" .

  • The root file system is the main partition so leave as much space as you can and make sure you have around 500 MB of space for swap area.
  • By default it would have taken "100MB" you change it to what ever you want depending on the availability....
  • don't bother about the starting point and stuff like that .LEAVE IT as it is.
  • MOUNT POINT : select "/" in the drop down menu. (if it isn't there just type / )
  • FILE SYSTEM: select "ext3".if you want you can select the other options as well.
  • THATS IT for root partition.

  • NOW for SWAP AREA do the same thing after HIGHLIGHTING the free space.
  • give the size that you desire of.If the size is around that of your RAM size then that should be enough.(depending on the availability)
  • FILE SYSTEM: select "swap area".
  • MOUNT POINT:no need to specify.
  • THAT'S IT.
note: IF ANY CHANGES ARE REQUIRED THEN SELECT THE PARTITION AND CLICK ON THE EDIT OPTION BEFORE GOING AHEAD.....

STEP 3 :
In the next step you have to give a user name and password.
After that it asks whether you want to import the documents from windows users .Its left to you to chose.
Sit back and wait.
after installation is complete just restart the system.........
tadaaaan......you are now the proud user of Ubuntu.....
