SAVE TIGERS - say celebrities !!! BUT HOW???

HEY I THINK THERE ARE AROUND 1500 OF US LEFT IN THE WILD








HEY WE ARE NOT EVEN 500 IN NUMBERS!!!!







SAVE TIGERS!!! 1411 left... But is there any body who knows how many Asiatic Lions are left in the wild??? There are less than 500 of them left in small pockets of forest range in Gujrat.

I just love these carnivores . They are great beautiful animals but how can i help in saving them. I am fed up of ads that feature celebrities reminding us about the number of tigers left. But no body is telling us on how can we contribute in saving the TIGER....
I think the Aircel promoted ad is just trying to cash in on the sentiments of people who care for the creature, Some real effort is required on the ground if they are to be really saved. Poaching , illegal mining in forests must be curbed or else once a magnificent animal will only be a part of Natural History Museums.... More awareness programmes must be conducted in areas where there is conflict between humans and animals to really protect these creatures.

I think i am just lucky to find myself in a time where tigers and Lions are seen in the wild.I hope it will not face the same fate as that of Cheetah which once roamed freely in the forests of India.

XAMPP made easy

Ahhhh.. at last found something to write.
Want to create your own web server? Need to execute PHP, Perl with database connectivity? then XAMPP is your answer. Hey, i've found out that its easy to install and work with. I am using this software for Windows and its turned out quite simple and useful.

A BRIEF TUTORIAL:

Installation:

Just follow the instructions blindly and you will end up installing it on your system.
It comes with Apache server, PHP, Perl, MySQL... and whole lot of other stuffs which i am totally unaware of...

How to use it?
After installing it just click on the XAMPP administrator icon on your desktop or just search for it !!! Now start all the servers. You can close the window and the servers will be running in background.
Now lets go to the business end. Open up your browser and type in localhost as the url. It will load the index page (http://localhost/xampp/) which has lots of info. about what you are running and some good examples.

Where to put my programs?

Everything you want to run can be kept in the /xampp/htdocs/ directory. This is the "/" (root) directory of your server.
The thing is every time you specify the url of a directory it tries to find the file named "index" .So ...
Warning: Dont delete the index.php file in htdocs directory. Its the one that comes up with the Info page that i talked about before. If you delete it you will have little trouble accessing the admin pages.
So the best thing is to create a directory inside the htdocs , say /htdocs/dir-name/ and then put your files inside it.

Just in case if you have deleted the index file , just type in the directory names in the URL and it will lead you to the corresponding admin pages.

How to access MySQL?

Very easy. Near the bottom-left corner go to TOOLS then click on phpMyAdmin which will take you to the Database admin page.
If you have little knowledge of databases you can play with it. The default username is "root" with no password. It is strongly advisable to make use of a password. You can create users and assign passwords and specify the permissions. If you want all permissions just check on all the options. Now create databases and use 'em.
Use the SQL icon to enter queries.

The first English Premier League match that i saw was the one which had Arsenal as one of its teams.I don't know why, but i thought of supporting this team.Of course i didn't had that much of a 'footballing knowledge' then.
But then, the brand of football they played was great to watch..... it was scintillating and eye catching.The way they moved the ball was just beautiful.... To my surprise they were really 'on a roll' back then.I was actually watching the "invincibles" (that's how that team was aliased) play football.
I mean that team was unbeaten for 49 consecutive matches!!!! its the most by any team in Premier League .Well that takes some doing.Isn't it a record to cherish .I'm glad that i support Arsenal.

Now that in the recent seasons we may not have won as many trophies but ,we still play football the 'Beautiful way'.A team with an average age of less than 26, we are a force to reckon with in the following seasons.
